An Exhibition of encaustic paintings
JULY 27 – SEPT 4, 2015

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to 160 degrees to which colored pigments are added.  It is applied molten to a painting surface and then fused with a torch or heat gun to create a variety of effects with texture and transparent layers.  Encaustic painting is very process-oriented and the unconventional methods of using molten paint allows me a wide range of tools for expression and experimentation with materials.
